Volunteering
PRO-ACTIVE Central London offers information and advice to encourage and support volunteering within sport. If we are to succeed in our national sporting ambitions for London 2012 and beyond we need many more people to take up sports volunteering and be motivated to stay involved.
Volunteering is a strength of community sport within England. Almost two million people volunteer in sport for at least an hour each week – equivalent to a full-time workforce of over 80,000 employees. National research shows that sports volunteering makes up a third of all volunteering.
Due to the value the volunteers bring to the world of sport PRO-ACTIVE Central London is committed to investing in the development of people volunteering and supporting volunteers in sport and physical activity.
